With great regret, the Whats Art Association announces the cancellation of the Recanati Art Festival 2020 scheduled for 4 and 5 July. A difficult choice, developed during the quarantine, practically shared by the whole world and the result of some reflections. First, we assessed the timing and the current state of the epidemic, the latter being improved but not yet under control. We have armed ourselves with courage by choosing a solution that is certainly disadvantageous to us but that does not endanger people.
Then there is a reflection starting from the mission and purpose of the Festival: to promote art and offer it to the public. To do this we need normality, still far away today, the only one that would allow us to carry out with the usual enthusiasm and in complete freedom a public event in which aggregation, sociability, physicality are essential, for artists and spectators .
We will try to continue, where possible, our activity to enhance contemporary artistic phenomena. In these days we are sharing on our Facebook page videos, direct, live streaming that the protagonists of the past editions of the Festival and friends are making. A fruitful harmony is being created. We want to contribute in some way to support the artists, their desire to do.
With the 5th edition of the Recanati Art Festival, the appointment is postponed to 9 and 10 July 2021, when we can return to fill the Historic Center of Recanati with shows and audiences!
